Your teachers Are all around you. All that you perceive, All that you experience, All that is given to youor taken from you, All that you love or hate, need or fear Will teach you-- If you will learn. God is your firstand your last teacher. God is your harshest teacher:subtle, demanding. Learn or die. Octavia E. Butler
About This Quote

Your teachers are all around you. To perceive is to see something with your senses. To experience is to feel something through the five senses, touch, taste, smell, hearing, and sight. To love is to have deep affection for something or someone, to make them a part of oneself, to become attached to them.

To hate is the opposite of love; it is to dislike something strongly. When we perceive anything through our senses, we experience it. We interpret what we see and hear and feel based on our backgrounds and experiences.

When we experience something through our senses, we can then learn from it. The lesson that God tries to teach us is that He gives us everything including our perceptions of life and experiences even though He knows these things will be taken away from us at some point in time.
